Slum dwellers in Kathmandu. Over 20,000 people live in small slum settlements like this all over Kathmandu. The 'landless' squatters, known as Sukumbasis, must live with the constant uncertainty that comes with building makeshift homes on land that is not your own. The settlements, and the people that eke out lives within them, are under constant threat of eviction, whenever the government decides to 'develop' the land or sell it on to private investors.
