St Catherine's Monastery. This Greek Orthodox monastery is among the oldest Christian monasteries and the smallest dioceses in the world. It was built around 527 CE by Emperor Justinian I at the foot of the mountain where Moses is said to have received the Ten Commandments. St. Catherine's is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
