Ashgabat, Turkmenistan

The huge Ruhy Mosque in the village of Kipchak, the biggest mosque in Central Asia, built on the orders of the former president Saparmurat Turkmenbashi Niyazov. On the minarets and inside the dome are quotes from Ruhnama, the Book of the Soul, written by Niyazov himself. Above the entrance an inscription reads: 'Ruhnama is a Holy Book. The Koran is the Book of God'. Next to the mosque is the mausoleum where Niyazov is buried.
