Ikela, Equatoria province, DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO
The main street of the town, which was largely destroyed in the second Congo war. Almost all of the 15,000 population fled when the town was besieged by Congolese Rally for Democracy (RCD) rebel forces during the conflict. Since then around half have returned, the remainder being still too afraid to leave the forest.
