Srebrenica, BOSNIA HERCEGOVINA

The 'white mosque', which was recently rebuilt after it was destroyed along with all of the other mosques in the area during the war. The Serb Orthodox church is visible in the background. Ten years on, Muslim survivors of the Srebrenica massacre are now returning to reclaim their former homes. So far around 5,000 have returned to the area. An estimated 8,000 Bosniak (Muslim) men and boys from Srebrenica were murdered by Serb forces in July 1995.
