The world's press awaiting the liberation of the trapped miners. Around 2,200 journalists from 600 different media outlets descended on Camp Esperanza as the moment of liberation drew near. The government levelled part of the hillside adjacent to the mine proving a visual platform for the media. 33 miners were trapped 700 metres underground in the San Jose mine after a collapse on 05/08/2010. They were rescued after 69 days.
