Nakuru, KENYA

Thomas Cholmondeley, son of the 5th Baron Delamere and a descendant of one of Kenya's first white settlers, is accompanied by police on his way to the High Court. Cholmondeley was accused of murdering Samson ole Sisina, a Masai man working as a Kenya Wildlife Service warden on his estate near Naivasha. The case, which raised tensions relating to the appropriation of land when Kenya was colonised by the British, later collapsed.
