The Negev, ISRAEL

Two Negev Beduin camels stand silhouetted on the horizon. The State of Israel does not recognize any part of the Negev Beduoin Arabs' ownership of their ancestral land, despite many of their villages being built many years before the establishment of the state. This has resulted in Bedouin Arabs living in unrecognized villages without access to basic amenities. The 150,000 Bedouin of the Negev are Israel's poorest and unhealthiest citizens.
