Villagers wash and collect water from the Yei River, which is believed to be carrying cholera. The influx of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) to the area has put added pressure on local water sources and many people are still drinking the infected water. Cholera is a highly contagious and potentially fatal disease which thrives in conditions of poor hygiene and inadequate water supplies.
