Samuel Aranda

Playa Blanca, Lanzarote, Spain

Workmen move among the seemingly discarded sculptures at artist Jason deCaires Taylor's studio. Taylor was commissioned to build his Lanzarote underwater museum after completing similar projects on the other side of the Atlantic, in 2010, he opened an underwater museum off Cancun, Mexico. His artwork is meant to raise awareness among visitors about the destruction of ocean reefs, while generating revenues that are partly reinvested in marine conservation.
