25 year old Elsie Savalba, a Honduran immigrant, stands in the doorway of her home in Manassas, Virginia with her one year old daughter Alison. Her house has plummeted in value over the last year from 295,000 USD to 150,000, and for the past six months Elsie has not been paying her mortgage. Soon they will be moving out. The area is suffering from a major collapse in the housing market following the subprime crisis and global credit crunch, which has forced the foreclosure and abandonment of numerous properties.
