30 year old Abiniel has been the victim of political violence due to his opposition to the ruling Zanu PF. He hid in a sewage ditch when Zanu PF supporters came to his village in search of MDC (Movement for Democratic Change) supporters like himself. He says: "I heard that some of my compatriots had been beaten. I did not want to be caught so I hid in a sewage trench. I fled and didn't come home until the early hours of the morning, at daybreak. My house was being watched by a neighbour who supported ZPF, waiting for me to come back."
