A 180 degree panorama showing from the left, the ruins of Kedung Bendoh village, the earthen dam, and to the right, the steam rising from the mud flow epicentre. Since May 2006, up to 50,000 people in the Porong subdistrict of Sidoarjo have been displaced by hot mud flowing from a natural gas well that was being drilled by the oil company Lapindo Brantas. The 'Lusi' mud volcano has continued to flow at a rate of up to 125,000 cubic metres per day.
