A camera set up to film an interview for Human Rights Watch with Adegbayi Titilayo Victoria (32), who is from Lagos, at the Emmanuel Rehabilitation Centre for Mentally Ill People. Victoria lives with a mental health issue. She is unsure how long she's been at the clinic or how long she's been chained for. The centre, which is run by Miss Mojisola Adeniyi, uses prayer as a healing but patients are also injected with drugs supplied by a pharmacy and medications are administered daily. The patients at the clinic are aged from 18 to 70 and many of them are shackled in chains. Mojisola Adeniyi says they use chains 'Because this is an open place. If you don't use chains they might take off and go back to the street again.' Also, she says that, 'Some are physically violent. If you don't put chains on there is no way you can hold them.' Staff claim that half of the people in the facility have been abandoned by their families.
