A cave painting in Laas Geel. A complex of caves and rock shelters in northwestern Somalia that is famous for its cave paintings. The caves contain some of the earliest known rock art in the Horn of Africa and the African continent in general. Laas Geel's cave paintings are estimated to date back to somewhere between 9,000 -8,000 and 3,000 BCE.
