Various Libyan army units, mainly made up of brigades ('Katibas') from the city of Misrata, have been fighting for some months now on behalf of the GNA-government (Government of National Accord, led by prime minister Al-Sarraj) against IS in Sirte, in an operation that goes by the name of Al-Bunyan al-Marsous.
