Principe island, Sao Tome & Principe

A little girl waits for her friend at the entrance of the abandoned royal stables at Sundi 'Roca' ('Roca' were agricultural plantations owned by the Portuguese), once the home of the Portuguese Royal family and one of the biggest and most productive estates on the island. It contained a hospital, a church, workshops, stables, coffee and cocoa roasting facilities and an enormous mansion. The sleeping quarters for the workers could host hundreds of people. A steam locomotive used to move finished products from one area to another inside the estate.
