A man listening to a radio inside a disused ship that is now home to his family in a harbour littered with disused and unfinished vessels. Such wrecks often hamper navigation on the river while others are home to squatters or homeless people. Old ships are also are inhabited at the owner's request. They are guarded until the owner can sell them to an investor who can get them up and running again or who buys them for scrap. The inhabitants, who are grateful to have a roof above their head in overcrowded Kinshasa, have improvised a community here, with bars and small shops.
