A miner from the Wujek coal mine undresses to take a shower after spending his day working in the mine. Wujek Coal Mine is one of the last mines still operating in Katowice and is widely known in Poland as the place of the
so-called "Pacification of Wujek", a strike breaking action by Polish police and military which resulted in the death of 9 miners on 16 December 1981.
