A scientist at Diagnostics for the Real World with Samba ll machines that are able to carry out a 90 minute test for COVID-19. The machines are ideal for point of care situations where patients, health care workers etc need results very quickly. Dr Ravindra Gupta has introduced the machines to the COVID-19 wards at Addenbrooks Hospital in Cambridge. The Department of Justice is planning to introduce them in eight prisons and an immigration centre and North West London Pathology is planning to introduce them to three London NHS Trust hospitals in the near future.
