Lukomir, Bosnia Herzegovina

A shepherd brings the sheep back to the village after a day in the mountains. Lukomir is a highland village in Bosnia Herzegovina, the highest and most isolated permanent settlement in the country. It is home to 17 families and 4000 sheep. From May to October villagers work on the land and tend to the animals. In winter the village is inaccessible.
