Tapachula, Chiapas, Mexico

An Angolan migrant woman holds a bunch hair she will use to make extension plaits (braids). Following pressure in July 2019 from the US government the Mexican authorities stopped issuing transit visas to migrants and asylum seekers hoping to cross into the USA leaving large numbers stuck in the city including about 300 Africans some of whom have taken to offering hair styling as a means to make some money as they wait.
