Zaatari Refugee Camp, Jordan

Arabic graffiti that reads: 'We will be back' is sprayed within the outline of a map of Syria at Zaatari Refugee Camp. Many of the camp’s residents dream of a better life in Europe, and during the second half of 2015 the number of people leaving the camp, to try to get to Europe, has grown. By September 2015 the camp’s population dropped to 79,000 from 83,000 in April 2015 and a high of 156,000 in March 2013. An average of 120 Syrians have been leaving Jordan each day throughout September, according to Andrew Harper, country director for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, this is double the rate of July.
