Lookout, MONTSERRAT

Ashnelle John holding her friend Kimisha's baby, Janicka, outside their new house at Lookout. Since its eruption in 1995, the Soufriere Hills volcano has remained active and has destroyed much of southern Montserrat. The local government, supported by the British Department for International Development (DFID), has built new housing for many displaced families in the north of the island.
