Ceramic icons which were made and used in India to rid villages of smallpox, showing the goddess Shitala (the goddess of smallpox and other infectious diseases) riding an elephant on display at Dr Jenner's House Museum. The museum where Dr Edward Jenner lived and worked is dedicated to the pioneer of the smallpox vaccination but like many small museums has suffered from having to close due to the coronavirus pandemic.
