David (28), from Uzbekistan, in his room in Labrys Centre for LGBT youth in Bishkek. He left Uzbekistan with his partner in 2013 after receiving a lot of pressure from local police, including blackmail and threats of imprisonment. Both David and his partner gained asylum seeker status in Kyrgyzstan through the UNHCR. Now he works with a rapid community response group for LGBT protection.
