Destroyed houses on the Island of Jean Charles, an indigenous community located on the coast of Louisiana, which was severely impacted by the passage of Hurricane Ida in 2021. In recent years, the area has suffered from an emptying population as a result of rising sea levels and the intensity of climatic events. The residents of the island were considered by the government as the first climate refugees in the USA.
