Berlin, GERMANY

Dome of the restored German Reichstag (Parliament). Designed by British architect Norman Foster, the dome incorporates energy saving green design on top of the famous historical building, using mirrors to reflect daylight down into the parliamentary chambers and a funnel to collect rainwater and remove stale air. Open to the public, the dome has become Berlin's number one tourist attraction since it was unveiled in 1999.
