Dosabi Umani (38, L) with her baby Hepe (1) and Chantal Safari (39), the two wives of Jonathan Mandevu, kneel at his graveside at Tsere IDP camp. Jonathan was hacked to death by an ethnic militia when he travelled back to his village to collect food.

There are at least 5.5 million internally displaced people (IDPs) in the DRC, mostly in the eastern provinces. In Ituri province alone there are 1.7 million IDPs, over a quarter of the population. 100 armed groups operate in the east and the result of this mostly ethnic violence is the largest unreported conflict in the world.
