Drug users gather beneath the Pul-e-Sukhta bridge on the banks of the Paghman river, a few kilometres outside the centre of Kabul.
The drugs of choice are crystal meth, opium and heroin which are mostlly smoked. Typically a portion of crystal meth is cheap, around 0.5 USD. Many of the users are homeless and they often smoke hidden under blankets and scarves. At times, they are arrested by the police and taken to the Ibn Sinar addiction clinic for forced treatment.
