Elham Yaghoubian is an author, translator and human rights activist. She wrote her first book at the age of 16 and is considered as the first female Jewish novelist in Iran. Her books are focused on women's issues in Iran. She was one of the founders of Marze Por Gohar, a nationalist movement calling for a secular Iran. After the pro-democracy movement of July 1999, she moved to the United States and worked as an advisor and analyst for different organisations such as the CA Army National Guards and the Holocaust Memorial Museum. She lives in Los Angeles and manages a language service company, 'The Tower of Babel'.
