Elias Mohammed, Kuapa Kokoo's elected 'recorder', writes in the company log book before paying a farmer for his beans. Kuapa Kokoo is a cocoa farmers' co-operative with 45,000 members spread across the forests of Kumasi. The farmers are all equal owners of Kuapa, which in turn owns 45 percent of the London-based fair trade company Divine Chocolate Ltd.
