Enrolled Nurse Lucy Chilinda tends to three week old baby Edith at Bwalia 'Bottom' Hospital in Lilongwe. She has worked three 'petroda shifts' this week and it is only Thursday. The nurses call their 24-hour shifts 'petroda' shifts after Malawi's chain of 24-hour petrol stations. Lucy who decided she wanted to be a nurse in primary school says, "We have some more money now but it's not enough. If there is an improvement in salary I want to stay. I would like to help my fellow Malawians".
