Zhengzhou, China

Factory employees pack sliced ham made from imported pork meat, supplied by Smithfield Foods Inc., on a production line at a WH Group Ltd. facility that processes the pork into ham. As China prohibits imports of processed meat, WH Group acquired American company Smithfield Foods Inc., the world's largest pork producer, in 2013 for USD 6.95 billion (GBP 4.5 bn) and opened the 800 million-Yuan (USD 116 m, 90 m GBP) factory in Zhengzhou that will produce 30,000 metric tons of sausage, ham and bacon when it reaches full capacity.
