Gofran (20) in the yard of their home in Irbid, Jordan. The seven al Zanghari sisters - Bayan (12), Sara (9) and Nora (7), Doa (21), Israe (15), Gofran (20) and Mona (17) - came to Norway with their parents in 2004 and told the authorities that they were stateless refugees from Palestine. They moved to Namsos and the children started school. The two youngest daughters were born in Namsos. When the authorities found out that they were Palestinians living in Jordan their application for asylum was denied. After their case was considered for nine years they were deported back to Jordan. Now they live with relatives in Irdib and none of the girls attends school.
