Ladoum sheep are a cross between Mauritanian touabir and Malian bali-bali. They're renowned for their size and appreciated for their beauty. As a highly prized status symbols and investments they can fetch as much as EUR 80,000. An annual 'beauty contest' for ladoum sheep is broadcast on Senegalese TV with sizeable prizes to be won.
