Hillary Niwamanya, a candidate, and the eventual male winner on the night, answers questions from the five jurors, after having qualified for the second round of the night's competition. The Y+ beauty contest is national competition with the message that people with HIV can also be beautiful, externally and internally. Participants compete for the titles of 'Miss' and 'Mister Y+'. The 'Y' stands for youth and + for HIV positive. The winners must use their status to contribute to the fight against the virus by participating, during the year of their reign, in many events and by demonstrating through their activism that it is possible to be HIV-positive and lead a normal and active.
