Rhino camp, Bidibidi refugee settlement, Uganda

Houses and small fields of crops planted by families who are mostly refugees from war-torn South Sudan. Most arrivals have been allocated a small piece of agricultural land, 30 x 30 metres, to build a home and to cultivate crops. Not many years ago this area was largely untouched bush only sparsely populated by the local Ugandan farmers and their families. The area is now part of one of the world's largest refugee camps, the Bidibidi Refugee Settlement, which has been praised as a model for the ethical treatment of refugees.
