In the Drakensberg mountains, near Loskop, Lihle Mbele walks with her aunt to the bus stop to take her to hospital for treatment for her TB. They are travelling to the same hospital where her mother died just a few days later of an Aids related illness, leaving Lihle to look after the family. Child-headed households such as this are becoming more common in South Africa, as the Aids epidemic continues to ravage the country.
