Ina (31) from Averoya survived the terrorist attack carried out by Anders Breivik on the island of Utoya while she was attending an AUF (Workers' Youth League) political camp in July 2011.. She is currently a social worker and politically active through the municipal council where she lives and in the county council for the Labour Party (Arbeiderpartiet). Between 2018 and 2020 she was the leader of AUF, the Worker's Youth League (AUF). Ina and her partner are expecting their first child in 2021.
'As the leader of the Worker's Youth League (AUF) it was my job to give other people hope. Therefor I had to feel good myself, to deal with everything we had experienced. It is a great responsibility for a young person. I have a lot of good things in my life. But I sometimes feel that July 22 has given me earnestness and depth. I have become both lighter and a little darker.'
Her advice to herself: 'Be kind to yourself, what you have been through is big and painful. It's allowed to feel that it is difficult. Fortunately, the picture will gradually expand, it feels very present now, but eventually it will become a smaller part of the big life. Good things are waiting for you in the future.'
