Kelvin and Kerry Pope drink tea near their caravan that has been covered in black plastic to protect it from asbestos dust in the air due to the bushfires.
Kelvin and Kerry Pope live 5km form Cobargo and lost their property during the New Year's Eve 2019 bushfire. They are currently living in a caravan wrapped in plastic to stop the risk of asbestos blowing in from their destroyed home that lies in rubble only metres away. Workers have commenced the clearing of their property but they were told that they must leave the site during working hours for their own safety, this has made it very difficult for them to stay at home and self-isolate during coronavirus lockdown.
