Kompoa Fimba, 17, (L) and Andre Fimba, 27, have been married for one year. They don't want children, yet. Kompoa left school when she got married but returned after a few months. Her husband agreed to pay for her school fees. In order not to get pregnant she takes contraceptive pills. After finishing primary school, she wants to continue her studies. Her dream is to be a nurse. They married out of love. In the village people talk about the newly weds. Kompoa is the first girl in the village to return to school after marriage and have control over her own future. 'In school I try to convince my friends not to get married too soon and tell them to finish their education', she says.
