Locals from around the valley take a dip in an artificial pond filled with irrigation water supplied by dams and wells. 267 miles of agricultural drains eventually discharge into the sea of Cortez, providing, in addition to solids, water contaminated by pesticides, fertilisers, and metals, putting at risk human and the ecosystem's health, as well as the productive activities in very extensive terrestrial and marine areas.
