Mary Mikijuk (Mickeyook) (b. 1955), one of the last aboriginal children to have been sent to Churchill, Manitoba, a residential school. She spent two years there before she moved to college in Ottawa. She says that there she was bullied by refugee children from Europe and because of this she never finished her college education. Her first son Quentin hanged himself while in jail. The sorrow of losing her son caused her hair loss.
