Medical staff from Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) measure the mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC) of a boy during a measles vaccination campaign. The MUAC is taken in emergency situations in order to identify malnutrition among children under five years old. In a population weakened by the effects of drought, the outbreak of measles is a threat. The severe drought has extended across East Africa after the rainy season expected in October 2005 failed to arrive.
