Nana Abena Korkor Addo (29), a Project Coordinator for the Mental Health Society of Ghana and founder of Psychosocial Africa, a mental health support group. When first diagnosed with bipolar disorder she was hospitalised and forcibly injected. She found the hospital experience distressing. She was also the recipient of religious healing. Her negative experiences of mental health treatment inspired her to start a support group and educate the public on mental health issues.
