Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh

Nazmul Islam (60) was a witness to the Tula Toli, a mass-killing of Rohingya during a Myanmar Army led clearance operation at the village of Tula Toli (Min Gyi) in the Rakhine State, close to the border with Bangladesh.
He retired from the Myanmar military 1982 and converted to Islam two years later, married a Rohingya woman and has three children. He was detained by the military the day before the attack started in Tula Toli but was kept beside a communications room and was able to overhear the military's radio messages. He now lives in the Kutupalong refugee camp in Cox's Bazar.
