Tche, Ituri Province, DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO
Nepalese soldiers from the UN mission in Congo (MONUC) at a camp for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Tche, which has rapidly grown to house some 20,000 people. They fled their homes amidst insecurity resulting from violent attacks and clashes between rival Hema and Lendu militias. Every day more people arrive hoping to be protected by the nearby MONUC checkpoint.
