People hold up their smartphones in protest as police, citing COVID-19 lockdown regulations, move in to break up a vigil at the bandstand on Clapham Common held to demonstrate against male violence and commemorate the life of Sarah Everard, a 31 year old woman, abducted in Clapham in March 2021. An off-duty police officer, Wayne Couzens, was arrested and eventually confessed to the abduction, rape and murder of Everard. Her death has brought about a wave of demonstrations and discussion of a change in attitudes to and violence against women.
