Athens, Greece

People queue to extract their 60 Euros daily limit from an ATM machine at a bank in the wealthy Athens suburb of Kifisia. Greek banks have been closed since the announcement of a referendum to decide on the way forward out of Greece's financial crisis.

On 5 July Greeks voted 'no' in a referendum which asked whether they were prepared to accept the conditions suggested by the 'troika' (the International Monetary Fund, the European Central Bank and the European Commission) before being given extra financial support and bailout funds. The outcome of post-referendum negotiations could determine whether or not Greece remains in the Eurozone and if it will continue to receive further financial assistance from the 'Troika'.
